How can we help?

How to play Avoid Me, tips, answers to common questions, how to report an ad, and how to reach us.

How to play

  1. Drag to move

Drag anywhere on the screen. The white dot moves with your finger, so your thumb never hides it.

  2. Collect the squares

Every white square you touch is one point.

  3. Avoid everything red

Chasers, sweeping bars, aimed launchers and ring launchers. Each one warns you before it arrives.

Tips

  • Red shots destroy chasers. Lure them into the fire!
  • Bars sweep the screen and wipe out squares. Head for the gap early.
  • A red strip pulsing on an edge means a bar is coming; the dark notch shows where the gap will be.
  • Launchers aim where you are when they fire. Keep moving.
  • Ring shots fly straight out. Slip between them.

Controls and settings

Pause
The pause button at the top right. The game also pauses when you leave the app and counts down 3-2-1 when you come back.
Settings
SETTINGS on the home screen: Music, Sound effects, Vibration (on devices that support it), Reduce motion, Controls and Drag speed.
Controls
Drag (default): the dot moves with your finger's motion, at 0.8x to 1.6x. Direct: the dot runs to where your finger is.
Second Chance
After a game over, WATCH AD · SECOND CHANCE continues the run once, after a short video: nearby hazards burst away and play resumes after 3-2-1. When no video is available, the button is a free SECOND CHANCE, as it always is in the web version.
After a run
Tap RETRY or anywhere on the screen to go again, or MENU to go home.
Ads and privacy
In the iPhone and iPad app, Settings also has Report an ad and, where your region requires it, Privacy choices for your ad consent and privacy options. The Privacy policy and Support links are there too.

Questions

What is the difference between Drag and Direct?

With Drag, the dot copies your finger's motion (faster or slower with Drag speed), so you can steer from anywhere on the screen. With Direct, the dot runs to the spot under your finger, like the original game.

What is Second Chance?

Once per run, after a game over, you can continue: nearby hazards burst away and you get a 3-2-1 before play resumes. In the iPhone and iPad app you unlock it by watching a short video to the end (WATCH AD · SECOND CHANCE). When no video is available, for example offline, it is free, and in the web version it is always free.

What got me?

The game-over card names what caught you (a chaser, a bar, an aimed shot or a ring) and gives a tip for next time.

Is it really free?

Yes. Avoid Me is free to play, and there is nothing to buy. Everything in the game is available from the start. The iPhone and iPad app is supported by ads, which only appear between runs, never while you play. The web version has no ads.

When do ads appear?

Only between runs, and only in the iPhone and iPad app. After a game over you can choose to watch a short video for a Second Chance (WATCH AD · SECOND CHANCE, once per run; free when no video is available). Now and then a full-screen ad plays after a finished run, behind a short AD BREAK screen: never in your first 5 runs, at most every 3rd run and at least 3 minutes apart. The main menu also shows a small banner. Ads never appear while you play, and they are limited to G-rated content.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. Avoid Me works fully offline, so it plays fine on a plane or with mobile data switched off. Ads, including the optional videos, need a connection, so offline they simply do not appear. Your Second Chance is then free.

Where is my progress saved? Can I lose it?

Your best score and settings stay on your device. It is saved on your device the moment it changes. There is no cloud sync, so deleting the app deletes your progress, and it does not move to a new device unless a backup or a phone-to-phone transfer brings the app data along.

Can I play on iPad?

Yes. Avoid Me is made for iPhone and iPad. Spawn rates adapt to the screen size, so an iPad run is exactly as dangerous as an iPhone run.

What does Reduce motion do?

It tones down moving effects such as screen shake and particle bursts. It follows your device's Reduce Motion setting until you change it in the game's Settings.

Does the game collect any data?

The game keeps your progress only on your device and sends nothing to us. In the iPhone and iPad app, Google AdMob collects some device data to show and measure ads, such as your IP address and, only if you allow tracking, your advertising identifier. The web version collects nothing. The privacy policy has the details.

How do I report an ad?

In the app, open Settings and tap Report an ad, or email us (see Report an ad on this page). Tell us the game, when you saw the ad and what it showed, and add a screenshot if you can. We block reported ads so they are not shown again.

How do I change tracking or my privacy choices?

Tracking: on your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, then Privacy & Security > Tracking, and switch Avoid Me on or off. Consent in the UK and Switzerland, and the US "Do Not Sell or Share" opt-out: open Settings in the game and tap Privacy choices (it appears only where your region requires it). The game plays the same whatever you choose.

Who is Avoid Me made for?

A general audience. Avoid Me is rated 4+ on the App Store, and it is not directed at children under 13. Ads in the app are limited to G-rated content, and there is no chat, no sign-up and no way to contact other players. Parents with a question about a child's data can email us.

Report an ad

Saw an ad in Avoid Me that seems inappropriate, offensive or not right for a general audience? Please tell us. Ads in the iPhone and iPad app are limited to G-rated content, and your report helps us block anything that slips through. (The web version has no ads.)

Email us and include:

  • the game (Avoid Me) and your device (iPhone or iPad);
  • the date and roughly what time you saw the ad;
  • what the ad showed or advertised (the brand or app name helps most);
  • a screenshot, if you can take one.

We read every report and block the ad in our Google AdMob account so it is not shown again. In the app, Settings › Report an ad opens this section.
